The first point of the USk manifesto is: "We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation."Sketching from photographs is a valid and valuable practice — but it is a different one. Urban sketching is specifically about being present in a place and recording it in real time.If you cannot reach a location, sketching whatever is around you — your home, a window view, a local café — is entirely within the spirit of the manifesto.
